A lot of new printer driver disks now come with ppds on - I'd like to be
able to provide the user with the option of using these.

hmm. yes i just did a bit of reading, seems there's some issues need to
be worked out here (gimp-print might work better for colour inkjets)
Perhaps the safest path, politically speaking, would be to provide an
alternative Print plugin that uses the gnome-print system.
I think I might need to leave this one till a little later :(
