Maybe there is something you need to know about experimental: you don't have to use the whole experimental repository. When you add the experimental source to your sources.list, nothing is changed by default, so it is very easy to build gnome packages and upload them to experimental, using them without using anything else in experimental. So I don't see what is wrong here, there shouldn't be extra work for Gnome maintainers (and many people have already stated they can do NMU's in experimental to prepare the 2.4 work). -- .''`.
