I also use powerpc with libc6 2.3.1-9.  It works well.  Please send us
more information: your machine, when do you get segv, how to build
your kernel, which program do you get segv, which version does libc6 work, ...

I'm not sure that it may be powerpc cache issue, but this bug report
lacks a lot of information.  Well, I wonder your environment or
hardware have problems.
