[Bug 1335] New: kernel and fdisk see existing partitions on /dev/hda, parted doesn't

tried to install from
http://ftp.skolelinux.org/cd-lenny-test-i386/debian-edu-i386-CD-1.iso, picked
up per rsync on 2009/01/19. Having an installed XP and an old linux i chose
manual partitioning and found parted offering a blank /dev/hda where fdisk on a
shell showed the real partitined disk. I have screenshots of both, but don't
know how to append them :-( btw: XP sees the partitions too
