It "seems" to be free, a kind of BSD license, but I'm not an expert on the legal stuff, so maybe somebody could add a better opinion. Maybe contacting people from http://www.revolutionlinux.com (they are those at Quebec with 2.000 terminals under balanced LTSP servers) who did the package is a good idea before including it in Debian Edu.
