The logo in the login dialog is set in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc, and the background 
image is set with /etc/kde3/kdm/backgroundrc.  The background images are read 
from the /usr/share/wallpapers/.

The logo specified in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc has the full path to the file in /usr/
share/apps/kdm/pics/.
