even though I don't know much about this topic, I see the chance to join
ideas into one direction here:
In KDE3.3, kpersonalizer asks some initial informations at first startup
(language, style). Here, we could (make KDE) ask for additional
information in order to provide the best fitting KDE profile for the
very user (we discussed this today with some KDE developers):
Reviewing the Skolelinux desktop as one among others, it becomes clear
that it "feels" like any default KDE desktop. How about using Snofrix
Kid Themes (and simplified menus) with some "Kids Profile", and some
other (modernish) KDE theme with comprehensive menus for "Students
Profile"?
Such features should, of course, be conform to KDE and Debian. But
maybe they are already feasable with existing tools?
Otherwise I ask you if there could be any objections to such policy? (We
hope to find some nice themes).
Kind Regards
Ralf
