Fortunately this library is still available in the archive.

  http://archive.debian.net/en/woody/i386/libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1

The needed package is libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1 and is in this file:

  libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1_2.91.66-4_i386.deb

Installing that should install the missing libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
shared library. It was always needed to run Red Hat binaries.
Download the file from one of the mirror sites listed. Then install
it using dpkg.

  dpkg -i libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1_2.91.66-4_i386.deb

You should remove the symlink. Then install the package.

For future help the debian-user@lists.debian.org mailing list would be
a better place to ask these types of questions. Please ask future
questions about using Debian there.

Good luck!
