I think that's a little harsh, I think that's a perfectly reasonable view. He didn't say 'ignoring the release' or 'by squeeze'. The expected time using the debhelper approach of 'build it and they will come' might be expected to take 5 years and Raphael is trying to actively work towards it so that it happens in 3. There surely must be some extra effort that people can put in to get their system adopted faster than just putting it out there and see what happens. Matt -- Matthew Johnson
