New packages are not in scope of the update policy of released debian
versions. So this is not going to happen.

Second option is as a Lenny backport.

That's more likely. However only packages in testing are candidates for
lenny-backports.

Btw. why doesn't Ardour from unstable hit testing? This is normal for packages in Sid after some time right? Now there is no Ardour in stable AND testing.
