Please note that debian-l10n-english suggests using the enumeration style you mention for a2ps, when we're reviewing package descriptions... Of course, that triggers rewrites but these are generally coupled with much more very good improvement suggestions (the team features an artist of the English language and that's not /me....which is obvious for everybody).
