Dear Nima,

amap was included in Debian until Etch; maybe you can start your work from the
previous amap package:

http://archive.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/amap/

We will have to discuss what to do with /usr/bin/amap, which is for the moment
used by the bioinformatic software from the package amap-align.

By the way, http://freeworld.thc.org/thc-amap/ does not seem to work.
