iWatch is a realtime filesystem monitoring program. It's a simple
perl script to monitor changes in specific directories/files and can
send email notification immediately. In daemon mode it reads the
dir/file list from a xml config file but can be used and controlled
via commandline mode as well. Please notice that it needs inotify
support in kernel (Linux Kernel >= 2.6.13).

Notice: currently iwatch depends from libstring-format-perl which is
not available in the Debian package pool. I'm in contact with
upstream and an upcoming version should fix this issue. In the
meantime a preleminary package (inlcuding a
libstring-format-perl.deb) is available through the grml-repository:
