FWIW, this works for me, even though I get the same warnings (which I'd guess
come from the new sort).


Contents.gz seems empty, which sounds more like the culprit.
Ccing debian-devel; anyone know why this is the case?

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=376777 is the rootcause of this.
