There is a better way.
As some of you may be aware, the listmasters use feedback to gauge the
desirability / utility of new lists. Likewise while the listmasters
monitor the general 'health' of the lists (ebb/flow, posting frequency,
etc.), that doesn't necessarily mean they have read everything (although
Pascal certainly tries).
So, if you feel a particular post was inappropriate / out-of-line bring
it to the attention of listmaster@lists.debian.org

It is certainly *a* way but I'd hesitate to call it civilised; public
non-secret ballots are frequently used in mafia-like organisations.
And also within governments too.

If people who have a problem, let listmaster@lists.debian.org know, they
don't even need to be in the new-maintainer queue to be heard. Even
your pet dog can complain![1]
