snoopy:/etc/postfix# apt-cache show ttysnoop
Package: ttysnoop
Priority: optional
Section: admin
Installed-Size: 52
Maintainer: Alberto Gonzalez Iniesta <agi@inittab.org>
Architecture: i386
Version: 0.12d-1
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-4)
Filename: pool/main/t/ttysnoop/ttysnoop_0.12d-1_i386.deb
Size: 15166
MD5sum: d3f7c9b7cc13b263e2e316ba7a348506
Description: TTY Snoop - allows you to spy on telnet+serial connections
TTYSnoop allows you to snoop on login tty's through another tty-device or
pseudo-tty. The snoop-tty becomes a 'clone' of the original tty,
redirecting both input and output from/to it.

See bug #87371. The title is wrong. devfs is not the issue, /dev/pts
is (I think). I don't think there is any intention to fix the
bug. Over 4 years old. Perhaps this is grounds to drop the package
from Debian.

Seems a shame, I consider it a useful package to have. ssh support
would be nice though... It allows you to assist people who are having
difficulties without requiring the remote user run screen in multiuser
mode.
