From udev's changelog (available online at
<http://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/udev>):

   * Added support for coldplug and merged the hotplug scripts left.
Switched from udevstart to udevsynthesize. (Closes: #329226)
   * Added conflicts with hotplug and with module-init-tools releases without
     support for /etc/hotplug/blacklist.d/.
