Fortunately, flex isn't in the problem space. If you stick to what version of libc, etc., it'll make more sense.

Are other distributions willing to abide by Debian policy? If
so, I may come around to favour us participating  even now.
Do you know of any other distribution that has taken the trouble to write down as much policy as Debian has? It's not clear that the others have anything to put against it.
