it is present in configure.in, look for ccvt
you can force compilation of the YUV conversion C routines there.

that is allready provided.
FreeJ is rapidly growing in its 0.7 version which adds scriptability and
a bunch more of mmx/sse/sse2 optimized procedures, still every routine
keeps having its C counterpart, which is also needed to keep
crossplatform compatibility with OSX (currently supported in CVS).
