[HELP] xfree86-driver-synaptics stalled by xserver-xfree86 on s390

Hi,
on d-mentors[1] I've been suggested to submit my problem here since it's
quite tricky.

To summarize xfree86-driver-synaptics[2] is Architecture: any (as
xfree86 is) and Depends on xserver-xfree86 but there will never be an
xserver-xfree86 on s390, and that's why my package is stalled in sid.

Now I'm asking help on how to proceed to make xfree86-driver-synaptics
enter sarge. Some suggestions are:
1. change the architecture field and ask ftp-master to remove the binary
   from s390
2. ask ftp-master to add xfree86-driver-synaptics to
Packages-arch-specific (I'm still looking for info on what that
means even if I still can guess it, any pointer?)
3. make my package FTBFS on s390, and have ftp-master remove the s390
   binary

more options?
which one is the more polite/correct wrt to the ftp-master people (all
of those solutions require their intervention) or is there any know
procedure to deal with it?

thanks
