No, it was sent by a virus (specificaly, the "MyDoom" virus, also known
as "Novarg"). This virus is known to forge the headers of the mails it
sends out, in such a way that to the untrained, the mail appears to be
coming from somewhere completely different than the real sender.

If you receive more such mails and are running the Windows operating
system, please remove the mail without opening it (and especially
without opening the attachment); on other operating systems (such as
GNU/Linux or MacOS), you should be safe.
