	So, you were planning on doing to him (and others) what
 happened to you. Why do you expect sympathy?

	The whole idea of an ITP is to do so _before_ you do any work.

	Oj, Jesus. Have you read the above as you wrote it? Did you
 follow any of this?  What makes you so special that you can ITP late,
 but other people should inform you in advance?

	I generally contact upstream _afterwards_, when I can show him
 a package to look at, and not just vapourware.  I certainly would not
 speak before I even did an ITP.

	Umm, I would call that harassment. If he knew enough about
 Debian to make a .deb package, he knows enough to know how to
 join, but has decided, for whatever reasons, to not do so. You should
 respect that decision, and not badger people into joining the project.

	Next time, remember to ITP _before_ you do any work.
