Yes, I believe that I did somewhat overreact.  Blame lack of sleep, or just
that I'm a reactionary.

An Alioth project for surfraw sounds good to me.  If you, or Christian are
willing to coordinate this, then that makes sense to me.  As long as hte
package gets some active maintenance.

I see no reason Christian and the two non-DDs can;t be involved.  If the
uploads are going to be made, there's no reason for Christian not to remain
the maintainer of record, perhaps with a couple of people in the Uploaders:
field so that if someone has a lack of time, it doesn't impact badly on the
package.
