Note that I've occasionally done this by accident, when new upstream
releases appear; on my cleaner packages, I can unpack tarball, cp -a
the old debian directory, cd in, dpkg-buildpackage, test the .deb and
see that it works, and then notice that I got no .diff, scratch my
head and realize I forgot to fake up an orig directory.  (I should
just write a helper script that does the tar/mv/tar [and double check
the pathnames before unpack, etc] but then I suppose I'd have to
remember to use it...)  IWBNI if something in that path
(dpkg-buildpackage maybe, but maybe not) would notice that I'm doing
something wierd this time...
