sysklogd steps on logrotate's foot

Fellow Developers,

When logrotate is installed, the administrator has no easy and
permanent way of stopping sysklogd cron jobs to rotate logs using
savelog. In such a situation, logs are going to be rotated in a
flip-flip fashion by both mechanisms. This is a Bad Thing(tm).

At the first approach, sysklogd drop-in cron jobs could test for
the existence of logrotate config and/or binary executable and do
not rotate logs if that/those exists/exist.

Thoughts?

Peter
