Let me make a proclamation right here:

 - if anyone wants to take over one of my packages, you're welcome to
   it.  just ask.  or if you're really inspired, don't ask, just take.
   (just treat my baby right.)  if i want it back, I'll contact you,
   explain why, and take it back.

 - if anyone wants to NMU one of my packages, for a good (technical)
   reason, go ahead.  you don't have to give me a warning or wait or
   anything.  Just go!

Maybe there should be a bit people could set in their debian LDAP
entry for this.  Egoless: true, something like that.
