It may be a good idea for people who make heavy use of SDL-dependent
packages to put libsdl1.2 on hold until the transition is complete.  How
long that takes depends largely on the maintainers of those packages.

When I follow his advice (because removing libsdl1.2 would mean to remove
20 packages from my system - and I don't want to remove some of them) this
would mean that my two SDL-dependant packages would be linked against the
wrong library package at least on i386...  :-(
