the automated glx-cvs deb site at http://debian.oftheinter.net
(aptable too - http://debian.oftheinter.net/glx ./ )

has this in the glxbuild script

# glxbuild: download cvs, compile deb and archive it.

This works wonderful right now, and builds debs from the current CVS, so
a simple 'apt-get upgrade' or 'dselect' is really current all the time, on
a daily basis.

You might want to figure out who currently maintains that site, and
find out if they plan on submitting a deb to Debian proper.  Really, the
CVS stuff is very unstable and glx is still very much work in progress,
but it does work really well right now...
