My copy installs fine:
vanzandt:/etc/cron.daily# dpkg -i
/debian/dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/doc/gimp-manual_1.0.0-1.deb
Selecting previously deselected package gimp-manual.
(Reading database ... 48346 files and directories currently
installed.)
Unpacking gimp-manual (from .../doc/gimp-manual_1.0.0-1.deb) ...
Setting up gimp-manual (1.0.0-1) ...
vanzandt:/etc/cron.daily# dpkg -r gimp-manual
(Reading database ... 48877 files and directories currently
installed.)
Removing gimp-manual ...
vanzandt:/etc/cron.daily# md5sum /debian/dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/doc/gimp-manual_1.0.0-1.deb
8926d9c292ebaab596de9c3698ab0b25
/debian/dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/doc/gimp-manual_1.0.0-1.deb
Please calculate an md5sum to see whether your copy of the .deb is the
same. Maybe you didn't use a "binary" transfer?
