What would be nice, and of a lot more practical value, is seeking out
non-free apps and their free equivalents.  Ncftp and lftp were a good
example of this, before ncftp got gpl'ed.  I use some things here and
there from non-free, but I would like to know if there is a free
program that does the same thing, so I can switch.
