Bug#2539: general) debian-unstable
Ian had responded to my original "story", gently chiding me for not
being able to provide more specific information regarding
conflict-reolution errors with debian-unstable.
I did find that I had some notes which I took when I was installing it,
so can provide more information.
When I selected xbase, it says that it conflicted with xstd. Curiously,
though, xstd does not seem to be here. I will swear that it did appear
in the conflicts list, saying that it _required_ xbase.
One of my other problems, the lack of an ELF xterm or rxvt, seems to
have been fixed at least in the sunsite mirror.
I found versions of xterm (and mxterm) elsewhere, though. xterm from
the XFree86-3.2.1D distribution, and mxterm -- I forget where. Both
required a library libtermcap.so.2, which I did not have and could not
find, anywhere.
I recalled, later, that the ncurses library has in it the termcap
library. Making a symlink to the termcap library allows these programs
to run fine. Perhaps that should be added to the installation setup.
