Bug#2204: Description

Does image 1.3.57 have smbfs compiled in? Why 1.3.57, did images before that
not have smbfs compiled in? I didn't originally make a dependency on image
because of this and also because many people (myself included) don't use
debian kernels, but I suppose if you can compile a kernel then you can use
--force-whatever with dpkg.

What do people think about this?

Andrew

(note my reply address is corrupt (keep harassing people Ian, someone who can
actually do something might eventually take notice :)), mail to
andrew@it.com.au)

Package: ksmbfs
Version: 0.2.4-2

Status: install ok installed
Priority: extra
Section: misc
Maintainer: Andrew Howell <andrew@it.com.au>

Depends: libc5
Description: mount and umount commands for the smbfs, it requires a 1.3 kernel.
..

Suggestion to change this into:

Depends: libc5, image (>=1.3.57)
Description: Mount and umount commands for the smbfs.
Smbfs is a filesystem which understands the SMB protocol. This is the
protocol Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT or Lan Manager use to talk
to each other. It was inspired by samba, the program by Andrew
Tridgell that turns any unix site into a file server for DOS or
 Windows clients.
