debdiff against Darren's 1:1.5.6-2 (no version increment) is
attached, including minor adjustments to menu, watch, .desktop,
control, and rules files. The icon is unfortuantely too large (48x48
vs. 32x32). Also, it suffers from the undeclared NMU issue. Anyone
interested is free to grab any of the changes, with or without the
changelog update.

Note that I'm not convinced it wouldn't be better to port the
clients and drop the library. Even if the library is preserved, it
makes sense to me to stop building and shipping jscalibrator (although
this adjustment is not included in the attached debdiff).
