If the autotools things aren't too much of a hack, this should work:
./configure --prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/games
You will probably also want to pass --mandir=/usr/share/man, so the
manpages don't go to /usr/man, but to the "new" standard location,
/usr/share/man.
