Bits from the 2nd Debian Groupware Meeting

As last year the Debian Groupware Meeting was held in the LinuxHotel,
Essen, Germany[1]. This is a short summary what happened during the
weekend:

* Since Debian is gaining more and more extensions for the Icedove,
Icewease, Iceowl and Iceape the Mozilla Extension Maintainers Team was
brought to live[2]. This will hopefully ease the handling of transitions
to new major versions and improve collaboration.

* Speaking about major versions: a new Thunderbird release is around the
corner and so we spent some time on rebranding Thunderbird snapshots to
icedove-3.0. This work was based on Ubuntu's daily Thunderbird builds
[3]. Preliminary packages as well as updated extensions are available
for testing. Those were uploaded to the pkg-mozext repository. See [2]
again for download instructions and [4] for a list of TODOs. Help on
  this is very welcome.

* As to the server side: updated kolab 2.2 packages were uploaded to
unstable and some of the missing dependencies for packaging newer
versions of calendarserver were updated in experimental.

* the groupware overview page from last year was updated[4]. It's the
place in the Debian Wiki you want to look at to find out about
supported features (or the lack thereof), client integration and
packaging status of groupware server and client packages in Debian.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances the number of participants was
quiet low (3) this year an we hope to see more of you next year around.
Cheers,
 -- Guido
