attn: bogofilter users

Dear bogofilter users:

The next bogofilter package to be uploaded (bogofilter_0.7.4+0929cvs-1)
is not a drop-in replacement and may cause havoc if you simply
upgrade the deb.

Here is a suggested upgrade procedure from 0.7.4-6 (assuming you keep
your files in ~/.bogofilter):

1) Put all automated bogofilter use on hold (whether by stopping your
MTA, removing bogofilter from your delivery filters, or other
appropriate actions)

2) Change all instances of 'bogofilter -h' to 'bogofilter -n' (remember
bogofilter -n?), f.ex. in your .procmailrc if you are using automatic
feedback.

3) Change all instances of 'bogofilter -H' to 'bogofilter -N' (remember
bogofilter -N?), f.ex. in your .muttrc if you have such keybindings.

4) Install bogofilter_0.7.4+0929cvs-1_$arch.deb

5) Back up your databases, if you like.

6) Upgrade your databases to the new format.

   a. bogoupgrade -i ~/.bogofilter/hamlist.count -o ~/.bogofilter/goodlist.db
   b. bogoupgrade -i ~/.bogofilter/spamlist.count -o ~/.bogofilter/temp.db
   c. mv ~/.bogofilter/temp.db ~/.bogofilter/spamlist.db
   d. rm ~/.bogofilter/hamlist* ~/.bogofilter/spamlist.count
   e. (repeat for other users as necessary)

7) Resume automated and manual use of bogofilter (restart whatever was
stopped in step 1).

Alternately, you can just wipe your databases and start over.

HTH, HAND
