OK, check to see if you have xbase-clients installed. I had the same error
on an x86 when I tried to install woody's licq on a testing system (before
woody became testing) and it asked me to install a new qt which needed
xlibs-4.0 and I blindly agreed to it all. Try installing
task-x-window-system, which will install all packages you need and a bunch
you don't :-) and see if it helps.
