I've read your email from top to bottom and back to top again, and I've yet
to see where you said that dpkg --purge don't work. You mentioned that apt
don't work, not that dpkg don't work.

I've also understood that you weren't trying to install pcmcia, but rather to
uninstall it. From what I've understood, I think that base-floopies
installed it for you, and something went wrong when it (base-floppies) tryed
to uninstall it. That's why I've suggested you to try the --purge option.

Last, I'm sorry if my atitude seemed somewhat hard. That wasn't my intention.
