P4 2.53, 512 meg ram, ASUS P4B533 motherboard.
4 x 250 gig Maxtor DiamondMax 16(5400rpm), in raid 0, on a 3ware 7500-4,
2.4.20 kernel.
Seems pretty reasonable speeds to me.
And hdparm, for those who still believe in it being meaningful:
/dev/sda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 0.34 seconds =376.47 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 1.43 seconds = 44.76 MB/sec
Off to change this to a raid5 instead now(which is how this is being
implemented)
