bored and setting up a 3/4tb array at the office.

4 x 250 gig Maxtor DiamondMax 16(5400rpm), in raid 0, on a 3ware 7500-4,
2.4.20 kernel.

Seems pretty reasonable speeds to me.

And hdparm, for those who still believe in it being meaningful:

/dev/sda:
 Timing buffer-cache reads:   128 MB in  0.34 seconds =376.47 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  64 MB in  1.43 seconds = 44.76 MB/sec

Off to change this to a raid5 instead now(which is how this is being
implemented)
