Quote "man 5 crontab"

If MAILTO is defined (and non-empty), mail is  sent to  the user so
named.  If MAILTO is defined but empty (MAILTO=""), no mail will be
sent.  Otherwise  mail  is  sent  to  the owner  of  the crontab.
