【Debian Woody 的 GNOME 2.2 套件】 Jamie Strandboge 在 DesktopLinux.com
上[3]發表他將 Debian unstable 中的 GNOME 套件重新編譯，製作成供 Debian
stable 使用的套件。他製作的套件同時也包含了 Gnucash、Mozilla、Galeon 和
Evolution。您只要依該文中所述在 source.list
中加上一行，就可以輕鬆地享受這些新的套件。

【開設新的通信論譠】 Anand Kumria
[4]宣佈管理者開設了數個新的通信論壇供非英語系國家的朋友使用。此外，除了

通信論壇。稍早他也有[7]公告說他安裝了 razor 和 crossassassin 來減少 Debian
通信論壇中傳遞的垃圾信件。

【Debian 對 RISC 平台的支援】 Andrew Buckeridge [8]指出 HP、SGI、Sun 和
IBM 都以自行研發的作業系統搭配他們自己的平台。不過，這四家廠商都不約而同地推銷
搭配 GNU/Linux 的 x86 系統。既然這些平台 Debian 全都[9]支援，他希望對在這些平
台上使用 GNU/Linux 有興趣的朋友向這些廠商詢問，要求他們能在這些平台上支援
GNU/Linux。

【新的維護者】 Martin Michlmayr [10]表 [11]示最近有 18 位新的維護者加入
Debian 計畫。他 [12]認為因為 Debian

【不再要求 Testing 中的套件要能在各平台上使用？】 J廨獽e Marant
[14]提議只要一個套件能在部份的平台上完成編譯，就讓它進入
testing，不需像以前要求要在所有的平台上成功地編譯。他認為要讓套件儘早進入
testing，讓對它有興趣的人可以進行測試。Anthony Towns
[15]說因為每一套發行系統對每個套件只有一個相對的原始碼套件供各平台共用，這
種作法可能會造成一些問題。最後，Colin Watson
出來[16]質疑為什麼那麼多人要把精神花在這些細節上而不拿來修正 bug。

【一些關於發行的提議】 Jaldhar Vyas 作了下列[17]建議：發行一個包含數個
unstable/testing 中移植過來（backport）的套件的 woody
更新版；建立官方原始碼存放中心，並給予所有維護者修正 bug
的權限；還有完全停止發行任何版本，因為這可以由協力廠商完成。Jesus Climent
[18]補充說HispaLinux
已經開始在為特定團體（如大學、教育機構、政府機關等）製作客制化的 Debian
發行（personalised Debian releases）。

【移除已經無人維護的文件】 Adam DiCarlo
[19]提議移除一些已過時或已無人維護旳手冊。他希望籍此能將大家的力量集中在同
一個地方。他打算將教學手冊、使用者手冊、Debian
指南、系統管理者手冊及網路管理者手冊合併到維護得相當不錯的 Debian
[20]參考手冊之中，希望大家能把自己的意見告訴他。

【Debian 用於網路安全裝置】 LinuxDevices
的一篇[21]報導指出，[22]Innominate Security Technologies 將在 Intel
Developer Forum
中發表它們宣稱是『全世界最小的網路安全裝置』的一項產品。數年來，Innominate
在開發標準及特殊訂做的網路安全產品時，Debian GNU/Linux
一直是他們基礎作業系統的第一選擇。他們現在的產品都是以 2.2 及 3.0
版為基礎開發的。既然是將開放原始碼用於產品開發，Innominate
當然也很熱心地將他們的程式碼[23]貢獻給大眾囉！

【來自 Hamburger Computer Tage 的報導】 Jan Palic 完成關於 Debian
於一月底於 Hamburger Computer Tage 參展的相關[24]報導。Debian
受邀參展，並於數個以 GNU/Linux 為題的演說中負責主講兩場。Debian
的攤位在展覽期間吸引了許多參觀者的目光。
