Package: cdrom
Severity: important

Greetings,
I can not get the UPDATED CD#1 to boot.

Debug info:
a) I can get the cd drive to read the disk (after Lenny installed from
non-updated #1 cd.
b) Boot sequence of PC is OK. Was able to use Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.3
"Lenny" - Official i386 CD Binary-1
20090905-08:23
c) I have burned 3 cds from different sources (torrent, single download,
jigdo). All won't boot

I have read the FAQ about the updated CDs :
http://www.debian.org/CD/faq/#update-cd
It said "You only need to download either the update CD or the normal
CDs, not both!"

The FAQ did not explicitly sat that he updated CD#1 should boot.
Perhaps the FAQ could be more clear?

I posted a question in the forums:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=46644

I suspect that the missing autorun.inf and tools/loadlin.exe ( and
others?) are the problem.
at the root level, the (updated) cd #1 has only these directories:
  .disk
  dists
  pool

Thank you,
Jay E.

The update CDs are not meant to boot at all, they just contain the
packages needed to upgrade an existing installation. If you don't have
that existing installation, then you'll need to use the normal
installation CDs/DVDs.
