Re: Revised TODO



It's kind of an alternative to nsswitch.conf. I'm not sure why it exists...
It looks like this on FreeBSD:

skaro:/skaro# cat /etc/host.conf 
# $FreeBSD: src/etc/host.conf,v 1.6 1999/08/27 23:23:41 peter Exp $
# First try the /etc/hosts file
hosts
# Now try the nameserver next.
bind
# If you have YP/NIS configured, uncomment the next line
# nis

And on Linux:
hotrod:~# cat /etc/host.conf 
order hosts,bind
multi on

As I said, FreeBSD's resolver really didn't like the Linux version of the file,
which is in base-files.
