Bug#593654: installation-reports: [netinst squeeze daily 2010-08-18 amd64] Formatting of partitions fails due to missing /etc/mtab

Package: installation-reports
Severity: important
Tags: d-i

Situation:
Disks were already partitioned from previous lenny installation, but they were
selected for formatting to install squeeze from scratch.

Problem:
The installer failed on creating filesystem (tried ext3 and ext4).
Running mkfs.ext3 manually from console complained about missing /etc/mtab, so
mount status could not be determined.

Workaround:
"touch /etc/mtab" also makes the installer succeed creating the filesystem.
