I've zeroed the beginning of the disk, then used guided partitioning
for the entire disk, asking for /home to be on a separate partition.
You are right, all messages in partman implied that partition is ext3,
yet /proc/mounts showed it as ext4 when I mounted it manually from the
shell.
I'll try to get the logs and fdisk output after partitioning.
