Package: installation-reports Boot method: netboot Image version: both i386 and amd64 daily builds from http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/ http://people.debian.org/~aba/d-i/images/daily/ Date: 2008-10-11 18:00 Machine: AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ made from parts Processor: AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ Memory: 2GByte Partitions: see attached archive Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): see attached archive Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot: [O] Detect network card: [O] Configure network: [O] Detect CD: [O] Load installer modules: [O] Detect hard drives: [E] Partition hard drives: [O] Install base system: [O] Clock/timezone setup: [O] User/password setup: [O] Install tasks: [O] Install boot loader: [O] Overall install: [O] Comments/Problems: The box has a four-slot flash card reader that is detected as /dev/sda - /dev/sdd, the SATA drive is /dev/sde. Consequently, GRUB is set to boot from first hard disk, but with kernel and initrd on /dev/sde. This happens with i386 as well as amd64, and independent of the setting of the disk interface to IDE or AHCI mode. The rest of the partially preseeded minimal install was perfect. Cheers, Herbert
