Comments/Problems:

The box has a four-slot flash card reader that is detected as
/dev/sda - /dev/sdd, the SATA drive is /dev/sde. Consequently,
GRUB is set to boot from first hard disk, but with kernel
and initrd on /dev/sde. This happens with i386 as well as
amd64, and independent of the setting of the disk interface
to IDE or AHCI mode.

The rest of the partially preseeded minimal install was perfect.

Cheers, Herbert
