Which would be fine, except that this was a "businesscard" installation. Everything is gotten from the network. Shouldn't it always get the latest version of the kernel, given that it's going to the network anyway, wherever it might be retrieved from?

Might be different for a "netinst" or CD/DVD install where the network is not assumed, of course...
