So that's the problem. Even if the name is misleading, you will need at
least one of this driver images to access your hard disks.
Unfortunately, these floppies do not contain all the necessary
components to run the installer through the end. You either need to
get access to the other components and packages by read them from a CD
or from the network.

This is doable, but not really straightforward. I'd like to explore
alternatives first:
* Is your CD-ROM drive working? The "netinst" CD-ROM contains
everything you need to get a minimal system running. The "CD1"
contains everything you need to get a basic desktop system working.
* Does your machine have USB ports? You might try to use an hd-media
installation then. IIRC, you can start an hd-media by using a floppy
disk if your BIOS does not support booting of an USB stick.
