Bug#444978: Don't treat our users like shit!

reopen 444978
thanks

Hi Geert,

I understand that you are trying to help, and I appreciate it.
But please, if you don't do it the right way, it is making things worse.

As people answering requests about installing Debian, we probably have
more contacts than other teams with people that have a thiner technical
background or that do not write english really well.

This is not a reason to treat these users like shit, which is exactly
what you just did:

As far as I can read from the previous report, I am actually unable to
understand the real issue. The version of the installer is *not*
mentioned nor which exact step of the installation failed. Before
getting an answer to this questions, I don't feel that the report should
be closed.

And damnit, you could have least have given some pointers to the manual
sections mentioning alternative boot method!

On an even more general aspect, I am questioning the way you currently
try to integrate in the team: you have never participated to any IRC
meeting since they started again in July and its not actually the first
time that I disagree with the way you are trying to handle bug reports.

Sorry for being a bit harsh, but I am really worried about this...

Cheers,
