Both the OSes (Windows 2000 AS & > Debian Lenny) boot fine Was Windows 2000 automatically detected? That would be very surprising as detection of other OS is not yet supported for dmraid volumes. If you manually added the needed lines for Windows 2000 in the grub configuration, then everything is as expected. If not, I'd very much like to see the syslog and hardware summary for that install (available in /var/log/installer on the installed system). > 2. However, that should not even be needed! As soon as you boot with "dmraid=true", the installer should load at least the dmraid-udeb (and its dependencies) and modprobe the dm-mod kernel module. > d. The activation of dmraid volumes during disk detection is done based on the output of the command 'dmraid -c -s'. If that shows there is a dmraid volume, the partman-dmraid module is loaded which also pulls in dmsetup. Can you run that command in a shell and what is the output of that? If that fails, then please send the syslog for the installation up to that point. > e. "lsmod" does not list dmraid or devmapper modules. (In the first > scenario, "lsmod" does list dmraid and devmapper modules.) As far as I know there is no such thing as a 'dmraid', nor a 'devmapper' module. Please use the actual module names when you refer to them! > How do I install Debian in 2nd scenario? My reference to this > installation is http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SataRaid It should just work. Let's try to find out what's going on here. Cheers, FJP
